For what it's worth, the Honda dealer closest to me in the Cleveland area acts the same way about giving a test ride. The local Suzuki guy, who also carries Indian, is the complete opposite. Several times a summer he holds an open house event with hot dogs and let's anybody with a valid MC endorsment ride whatever he has ready to go.
